Yes we know it's still August, but it doesn't hurt to get in early.
We're lucky to live in a country that allows us to enjoy an average of 20 working days paid annual leave each year.
Throw in bank holidays and that around 29 days of the year where we get paid not to be at work.
And if you've been holding on to your precious days off to use them at a valuable time, Christmas is definitely the time to pull the trigger.
With Christmas Day falling on a Wednesday this year, St.Stephen's day on a Thursday and New Years day on a Friday, you could technically walk out of work on Friday the 20th of December and not return until Thursday Jan 2nd 2020.
A pretty handy break alright.
To make that happen, here are the days you'd need to book off: Friday Dec 20th, Monday Dec 23rd, Tuesday Dec 24th, Friday Dec 27th, Monday 30th, Tuesday Dec 31st.
Of course this may vary workplace to workplace given some company's give their employee's days off around these dates out of the goodness of their hearts.
But if you're a shift worker who doesn't work weekends, this could be a great chance to get a well earned break to round out 2019!
Just don't tell your boss we told you...
