17-year-old Callum has created Cadbury's newest chocolate bar

Callum Clogher , from Ballygar,Co Roscommon, has thanked the public for all their support after winning the Cadbury Inventor competition, which called on chocolate lovers in the UK and Ireland last year to try their hand in creating the new Cadbury’s chocolate bar.

Callum spoke to Louise Clarke on The Hub saying:

"I went into school and everybody was kind of looking for a bit of chocolate, kind of thing. News had definitely broken out around the town."

Around 220,000 people initially entered the competition, which was whittled down to three finalists and Callum was the only Irish contender.

Callum told The Hub that the idea came to him while he was on placement in Athlone:

"Last year when I entered, I was doing a bit of summer work in Athlone, and every day I'd go out and get a cup of coffee for myself, in the little coffee shop and I'd go back in and drink it, and it was the usual thing I'd do."

"So I did that one day anyway and I arrived back in, and I took out my phone and I was just scrolling through Facebook, when an ad for the Cadbury inventor competition came up."

"You had to pick up to any three ingredients and give it a name and send it off, and that was your entry"

"I looked down at what I had in my hand, which was a cup of coffee and I looked across the table in the lunchroom and there was a tray of biscuits sitting there. So I said that's what I'll enter, coffee and biscuits"

The creation was a chocolate, vanilla and biscuit bar called the ‘Choca-latte’ .It came out with the most sales and online votes after being on the shelves for several months.
