More than half got their first choice.
Science, technology and engineering college courses have all seen a rise in CAO points.
Over 50,000 students have been getting first round offers today.
More than half got their first choice and this year, points have gone up for science, technology and engineering courses. There's also been more demand in areas like arts, humanities and nursing. One course - Economics and Finance at UCD - has hit the 600 point mark for the first time in CAO history.
CAO applicants can check to see if they have received an offer by logging on to their account using the ‘My Application’ option on the website. Students don't have to accept their first round offer until 5:15pm next Friday. There'll also be more rounds when the points for some courses could change.
Of the offers given out today, 43,851 are Level 8 courses, and 53% of those are student's first preference offers. 81% of the offers today are the first, second, or third preference of the students who applied for them.
Of the 30,806 Level 7/6 Round One offers, 89% are first preference courses, and 98% are first, second or third preference offers.
