But course choices don't need to be made yet.
Students have until 5 o'clock this evening to apply for the CAO Late Application facility.
They need to log onto cao.ie and click on 'Apply' before that deadline.
There's a €60 fee to apply for the late application facility.
First-time applicants are also advised to read the CAO Handbook before applying.
Students won't need to make their course choices yet though, they simply need to get their names in.
While the system will reopen on 5th May at 12pm for the change of mind facility.
That facility then closes again on 1st July.
The website gives this advice to all applicants:
"All applicants must carefully read the CAO Handbook and take note of the important deadlines and any restrictions that may apply."
"Applicants must treat all correspondence from CAO as extremely important and notify CAO immediately through this website if there are any errors or omission recorded in application documents."
