Here are four fun ways to show your support.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every year, over 3,000 women in Ireland are diagnosed and 723 die from the disease.
This month, why not get behind the cause and show your support at any of these fantastic events taking place across the country:
Painting and Prosecco
We couldn't think of a better gals day out. The g Hotel in Galway is hosting a Pink Paintclub for breast cancer on Saturday 19th October. You'll get their signature Afternoon Tea, a glass of prosecco and the opportunity to create your own masterpiece. All the painting supplies will be provided and all proceeds will help aid the work of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. Win-win!
Go Racing
What's better than a good day out at the races? Galway Races is hosting a 'Race in Pink' event on October 27th as part of their October Festival. In 2018, they raised a whopping €95,000 for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and this year, they hope to raise even more. The package includes a drinks reception and three-course lunch with wine - all topped off with panoramic views of the racetrack from the iconic Killannin Stand. What more could you want?
Pink Tractor Run
This looks like it'd be mighty craic! There's a Pink Tractor Run happening in Turloughmore in Galway this Sunday 13th October. Registration is from 11am at Flynns of Lackagh with the tractor run in full kicking off at 12.30pm. It's €20 to take part and the proceeds are going towards the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
Great Pink Run
This is a run that'll leave you smiling from ear to ear throughout. The Great Pink Run is happening in Dublin's Phoenix Park on Saturday 19th October and is open to men, women and kids. Expect to see plenty of elaborate pink costumes and painted their faces as the crowds show their support for the thousands of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Last year, the run raised a massive €350,000 to support Breast Cancer Ireland’s work and registration for this year's run is open now.
