Just imagine...
Boojum is offering to pay one Irish student's rent for an entire year.
Their PayMyRent campaign is giving cash-strapped college-goers the chance to live for one year rent free. The popular burrito chain say they're launching it to help highlight the struggles that Irish students face financially as their college fees and rents rise every year.
They've lined some streets in Dublin with duplicate 'To Let' signs which give details of the competition to win Free Rent for a Year. Boojum has also turned two of their restaurant windows into Estate Agent-esque windows, with listings available from €0.
Managing Director at the company, David Maxwell, told DublinLive that:
“Almost 50% of our workforce is made up of third level students so we’re really conscious of the pressures that they’re under.
“From speaking with our students, increasing rent really is one of the biggest issues for them and is a distraction that they don’t need.
“That’s the thinking behind this promotion; if we can help one student this year by taking the pressure of rent off their mind, then we’ve done something positive.”
