"We are sorry that this happened and would like to reassure parents that this is an isolated incident".

A batch of Cow & Gate Cheesy Broccoli Bake baby food is being recalled due to concerns it may contain small pieces of a thin blue rubber glove.

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned this would make the baby food "unsafe to eat".

The recall only affects the 250 gram jar for 10 month old children and above, and the product was sold in Irish Boots stores.

The jars were also sold at major UK supermarkets, including Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, and Tesco.

Customers have been told to check any jars they've bought by looking for the batch code: 28122020.

Affected jars will also have a best before date of December 28, 2020, only one batch of the baby food was affected.

Cow & Gate said in a statement that the "product does not pose a health risk", but that they are recalling it as "it does not meet our usual high quality standards".

"We are sorry that this happened and would like to reassure parents that this is an isolated incident," the company said.
