A man was arrested after barricading himself into a house in Abbeyfeale in Limerick last night.
Gardai from the Armed Support Units in Limerick and Cork were called to the scene.
They were supported by negotiators from Limerick.
The man in his 30s had access to weapons and tools - and threatened to self-harm and harm anyone who entered.
He did not have guns in the house.
He was taken into custody at about 10pm, about three hours after the incident started.
