Gardaí Launch Appeal After 3 Year-Old Seriously Hurt In Hit And Run

It happened earlier today.

A young boy has been seriously hurt in a hit-and-run.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the collision which happened today in Cork City.

The 3-year-old boy was stuck by a car at Castle Meadows off Skehard Road just before 4pm today. The car involved did not remain at the scene.

The young boy was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital and his condition is said to be serious.

The scene was preserved and is currently being examined by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They're particularly looking for motorists with dash cams who were driving in the Skehard Road and Castle Meadows area between 3:30pm and 4:30pm today to contact them.
