While NUI Galway has won the Sunday Times University of the Year 2022.

NUIG has been noted for it leading the way in medical advances for the treatment of Covid-19 and providing relief for some of the worst emotional impacts of the disease.
While it’s also been commended for offering leadership in planning how best to cope with future pandemics.
It’s the fourth time that NUI Galway has won the title in 20 years.
GMIT is among 19 Irish Higher Education institutes featured in the guide.
One of the big sells for GMIT was it being approved as a Technological University with Sligo and Letterkenny ITs.
Other things that helped GMIT to the title included its academic restructuring, collaboration with industry and a four-place rise in the overall rankings.
Trinity College Dublin topped the Sunday Times Third Level Ranking once again, as it has done in every edition.
