Met Éireann has issued a new weather warnings for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for 23 counties across the island of Ireland.
A status yellow rainfall warning is in from now until 3am on Friday for counties all of Leinster as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary and Waterford
The national forecaster says: ''Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur in places during the period. While some areas will miss the showers where they do occur there will be some torrential downpours, localised flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
''A more prolonged and widespread period of heavy rain will occur later on Thursday''.

Meanwhile a status yellow thunderstorm warning is in effect until midnight on Wednesday for Antrim, Armagh and Down.
A forecaster wrote: ''Although some places will remain dry, slow moving heavy showers and thunderstorms may lead to disruption due to flooding''.
