The capital could be moved to Level 3 restrictions if cases continue to rise.
The Tanaiste has urged people in Dublin to cancel any non-essential journeys outside the county after a spike in Covid-19 cases.
The capital is currently at Level 2 of coronavirus restrictions - but could be moved to Level 3 in the coming days.
Concerns are growing among health officials about the upward trend in Covid 19 cases in the capital. There've been 104 cases per 100,000 people over the last two weeks in Dublin.
But the rates are higher, at 152, in Dublin North-West which takes in the likes of Blanchardstown, Cabra, Castleknock and Finglas.
The rate is also high in Dublin South East, at 122, which covers areas like Ranelagh, Donnybrook, Dundrum, Ballinteer and Sandyford.
In Dublin South, though, which includes Blackrock, Dalkey, Shankill and Dun Laoghaire, there are 45 cases per 100,000. It's thought fewer frontline workers living there and a higher share of employees working from home could be some of the reasons behind the lower numbers.
Health officials will meet tomorrow to discuss if Dublin should move to Level 3. That would involve further measures for gatherings and fewer people being allowed at funerals and weddings.
