Five closure orders were issued to restaurants last month.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued five closure orders to restaurants last month.
Three were to sushi businesses operating out of a bedroom in a house in Dublin, while two restaurants in Cork were shut down.
Koi Sushi, Nagoya Sushi and Kyoto Sushi were all operating from the bedrooms of a house in Shanvarna Road in Santry. The FSAI said the three takeaways were making sushi without any hygiene or temperature controls. They added that posed a “grave and immediate danger to public health.”
In Cork, the authority says TFS Wholesale in Bantry was closed after a live rat was seen in the premises. They also noted rodent droppings in that location.
Speedos in Tuckey Street in Cork City received a closure order due to the presence of rat droppings, and rodent activity.
