The national forecaster is warning of very severe and damaging winds in the county between 9 pm and midnight tonight.

A status orange wind warning is also in place for Munster, Galway and Mayo from 9pm, bringing severe and damaging winds.
While heavy rainfall and storm surge will result in some flooding.
All other counties are currently on a status yellow warning for ''severe gusts are likely and there is a risk of some disruption''.

Meanwhile head of forecasting with Met Éireann, Evelyn Cusack has warned that as Storm Ellen approaches orange weather alerts could be issued anywhere across the country.
