'Haircuts before nights out'.

The Tánaiste has confirmed shops and hairdressers will be the first to reopen when we exit Level 5, saying it’ll be ‘haircuts and shopping before nights out’.

NPHET has been meeting to consider its recommendations and a formal announcement from the Government is expected on Friday evening.

Leo Varadkar says they will reopen places that are deemed the safest first.

''The highest risk scenarios are people congregating, particularly in hospitality and sporting settings and also people congregating in private homes'', he said.

''The things we'll do towards the end, are the things that we know to be safer.

''For example opening the shops, opening the gyms allowing people to avail of personal services like getting their hair cut.''
