The Juctice Minister is warning that gardaí will be out in force this weekend to ensure pubs are following Covid-19 guidelines.
Over 6 thousand checks were carried out last weekend under Operation Navigation, with 26 licensed premises found to be breaching the rules.
Last night 23 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, with 77 per cent of them under the age of 25.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee is urging young people to act responsibly this weekend.
''A lot of the people that we're seeing out and about, they are younger people'', she said.
''I understand why, but we just need to be very careful here, so I'm asking people over the weekend to please be personally responsible.
''If you go to somewhere and you feel they aren't implementing public health guidelines, and you feel that it's not safe then don't stay''.
