There's a private island for sale off the Irish coast

And it actually costs less than a house in some parts of the country.

Your own private island, it'd be an absolute dream wouldn't it?

Well for one person (or people) that dream could soon be a reality, because a private island is currently up for sale just off the coast of west Cork.

The 4-acre private island is known as Mannion Island and is situated just off Dunmanus Bay and has an asking price of €250,000.

And it's not too isolated either, given it's just 500 meters from a newly-constructed pier (located just five minutes’ walk away from the village of Durrus).

There's even a natural aping that's been used for agriculture in the past, according to thespaces.com.

However there is a catch, a building permit isn’t available for the Irish property.

The listing states: 'The island is being sold “as is” and does not feature a house, building, structure, or ruins. Electricity could be provided via solar panels or a wind-turbine''.

But that wouldn't stop you from having potentially the best private camp site in the country, whenever you just wanted to escape from it all.
