And it's free of charge.

An app which develops postcards is allowing people send one to a nursing home resident for free.

The Irish PostASelfie app usually charges users to create a postcard using their own photos to send to loved ones around the world.

However they are now waiving that fee so customers can send a postcard to a relative in a nursing home during the Covid-19 restrictions.

The app's creator Adrian McCusker believes it must be hard for families who can't see their loved ones.

''My own father was in a nursing home a couple of years ago, hard and all as it was at the time to visit him, as least we could go in'', he said.

''I would dread to think that if it was today that I couldn't visit him, because of the restrictions''.

ThePostASelfie App is available free to download from Google Play or the Apple App store.
