That number represents 31,800 fewer people than last week, while 13,100 people will receive the payment for the last time tomorrow.
Over the past fortnight, almost 100,000 people have closed their claim. The top sectors where people returned to work include accommodation and food, wholesale and retail trade, construction and the repair of cars and motorbikes. The largest cohort returning to work is aged between 35 and 44.
Meanwhile, over 67,700 employers are registered for Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme, with an estimated 415,000 employees seeing their salary subsidised.
Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys, says she will be announcing initiatives under the Government's July Stimulus package aimed specifically at enabling people to move back into employment.
