Science says that The Office US is the funniest sitcom in the world

According to science, The Office US is the funniest TV show on the planet.

The study was done by OnBuy.com who initially surveyed more than 2,700 comedy fans and gathered from them a list of the top 10 sitcoms. They then got 120 volunteers to binge watch all ten of the shows whilst wearing headphones. The volunteers also had a high quality microphone placed near them, according to LadBible. 

Researchers then measured the amount of time the participants laughed out loud during each episode.

The Office US garnered the most LOLs with an average of one minute and 45 seconds of laughter registered per hour.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine came in second place with one minute and 38 seconds of laughter per hour. The participants also noted that the funniest season was the fifth while season six was the least funny.

The iconic Friends came in seventh place while The Big Bang Theory was ranked the least funny out of the ten.
