It's the highest 24-hour total so far.
The highest daily total of new cases of Covid 19 has been recorded in the North.
1080 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, with no additional deaths reported.
Meanwhile, the North's Deputy First Minister Michelle O Neill is self-isolating as she waits for a test for COVID-19.
She's working remotely after she came into close contact with a family member, who has since tested positive for the virus.
Party president Mary Lou McDonald has wished her well:
''Michelle will be self isolating and following all of the good public health advice, as she has been a close contact of somebody who has tested positive''.
''We wish her well, and her family member well can I say to you that as somebody who contracted and was sick with this virus, it is not one I would wish on anybody''.
