The CMO said the restrictions have had some impact in Dublin.

The National Public Health Emergency team will make a call on Thursday on whether or not Level 3 is working.

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan says Level 3 has had some impact in Dublin, where it's been in place for four weeks.

However, last night he said there still isn't enough evidence to say the capital has "turned a corner" in keeping case numbers down.

There have been almost 8 thousand cases of Covid 19 in the last two weeks nationwide and the 14 day incidence rate is now 167 per 100 thousand people.

The national 14 day incidence rate is now 167 per 100 thousand people, a 43 percent increase in the past week.

Speaking on the impact of Level 3 restrictions, Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan said: ''We saw some stabilisation on the numbers over course of days last week and we reported that the 5-day incidence in Dublin did drop''.

''But in each of the last three days we've seen case numbers up again in Dublin well in excess of 200, so I don't think we can conclude that we've turned a corner in Dublin''.

825 cases were confirmed yesterday evening, along with 1 additional death.
