The government has announced a new five plan roadmap.

The entire country has been placed onto level two restrictions under a new government plan.

It means the current restrictions will be in place for another three weeks. However, further measures are being introduced in Dublin. Pubs that don't serve food will NOT reopen in the capital.

Spectator sport is returning under the plan being announced at the moment with some small theatre and musical events also getting the green light. The government is also adopting the European Commission's new traffic light system for foreign travel.

Here are the latest restrictions in place (Level 2):

  • Schools, restaurants, pubs and gyms, are open.
  • Pubs that don't serve food can reopen with safety measures in place.
  • Nightclubs, discos and casinos will remain closed.
  • Advice remains to work from home if possible. You're advised to only attend work for essential on-site meetings, inductions and training.
  • Face coverings must be worn in retail and services settings like hairdressers, beauticians and barbers.
  • You can have social visits in your home or garden. These visitors must either be all from one other household or up to 6 visitors from two or three other households.
  • Up to 50 people can attend a wedding ceremony and reception.
  • Sports events will be allowed to have 200 spectators from tomorrow. A lower cap of 100 will apply to smaller grounds.
  • Organised indoor events can go ahead. Up to 50 people can attend these in pods or groups of up to 6. Arrangements must be in place to ensure no intermingling of groups. Up to 100 people are permitted larger venues where a strict 2 metre seated social distancing and one-way controls for entry and exit can be implemented.
  • For organised outdoor gatherings, the limit is 100 people with up to 200 people permitted for some outdoor stadiums.
  • Up to 50 people can attend a funeral.
  • Religious services can operate with protective measures in place like appropriate social distancing, one-way traffic within the venue, removal of communal prayer items etc for up to 50 people.
