It's the largest ever seizure of contraband ever in an Irish Prison.
A "click and collect" style service for drink, drugs, and phones has been uncovered at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin, in the largest single seizure of contraband in an Irish Prison ever.
The contraband items included 10,000 tablets, cocaine, alcohol and up to 30 phones with sim cards and chargers.
They were individually wrapped with each intended recipient's name was written on the packages.
It's understood the drugs, alcohol and phones had come into the prison on a suppliers vehicle.
"It was like some sort of click and collect service that was going on" said one prison source via the Irish Independent.
The Director General of the Irish Prison Service Caron McCaffrey said it is “a very significant result " as the drugs could have had a devastating impact on the prison population.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure and is being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station.
