85-year-old Mr. Garrigan suspects his beloved dog 'Brandy' was stolen.

An 85-year-old man has taken to social media in a bid to have his beloved dog 'Brandy' returned.

Mr. Garrigan and his family suspect the 12-year-old springer spaniel was stolen from his home in Trim, Co. Meath on July 8th.

Writing an emotional appeal on his son Aiden's Facebok page, Mr. Garrigan said:

"Brandy was more to me than just a dog, he is my reason to get up in the morning and the reason I felt safe at night. I now spend my days searching high and low for him so I am asking you to search your heart and help me find him."

It's unlikely that the dog simply wandered off according to Aidan, as he was clipped by a car when he was a puppy and never ventures too far from the house as a result, the Irish Post reports.

"This is definitely not a case of Brandy going roaming - he has never done that in 12 years. He was stolen and Dad is just heartbroken," he said.
