The Public Expenditure Minister says the government recognises the impact the restrictions have had on the local area.
Over 6 million euro in additional supports is being made available for the midlands.
Businesses in Kildare, Laois and Offaly will be able to claim up to 5 thousand euro extra as part of the Restart Plus Scheme, at a cost of between 3 and 4 million euro.
One million is being assigned to the Local Enterprise Offices, while an addition one million will be given to Failte Ireland to promote tourism when the local lockdown ends.
Public Expenditure Minister Michael McGrath says the government recognises the impact the restrictions have had on the local area.
Speaking this afternoon he said the inconvenience the impact on day to day life and also the impact on businesses the local economy has been stark.
''Today's response is a recognition of that and it does provide a template and a starting point that can be used again in the event of further restrictions having to be imposed in different areas,'' he said.
