A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Co. Mayo in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
The crash occurred between a motorcycle and a car happened on the N83 at Johnstown near Ballyhaunis at around 3:35am.
The motorcyclist, who was in his 40s, was airlifted to Galway University Hospital.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and the road has re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for information, and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage.
