And you can still enter to win the house in Co. Mayo yourself.

An elderly Irish couple who survived the Covid-19 virus are raffling off their holiday house in order to raise funds for frontline workers.

The couple, known only as Joan and Patrick, have so far raised over €800k for the workers who have risked their own health day after day during the pandemic.

The Irish Independent reports, the funds will go to workers who have received less of the limelight - such as hospital porters, cleaners and kitchen staff.

"Having worked in hospitals most of my working life, I always thought the support staff should get more. They were always cheerful, hard-working and reliable and kept the hospital ticking over, said Joan, who is a retired doctor.

"I admire them so much, turning in every day, knowing the risks that they were taking for themselves and their families.

"Having seen what the virus was like with my husband, who is very lucky to be alive, I can only marvel at their strength and conviction,"

"These are the people we are raffling the cottage for."

And, if you're yet to enter or you're just hearing about it for the first time - there's still three days left to enter.

The cottage, is located under the Ox Mountains and lying along the banks of the Yellow River, in Askillaun, Foxford, Co Mayo, and for just €10, it could be yours.

The Raffle Draw will be done electronically on the day the Raffle expires, with the winner to be notified by email on Friday, 28 August.
