An Garda Síochána the HSE and Mayo County Council have teamed up for a renewed appeal in the fight against Covid-19 in Mayo.
With level 5 restrictions now in place around the country until early December, Mayo County Council has issued an appeal to everyone living in the county to keep up the fight against Covid-19.
The council, along with the HSE and An Garda Síochána, jointly issued the pubic video message late last week, appealing for people in Mayo to keep the virus out of their local communities.
Dr. Gillian Chambers, Health Service Executive, Garda Colm Boyle and Cllr Richard Finn An Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, all feature in the message which asks the county to take pride in their behaviour so that they can continue to limit the spread of Covid-19.
''Covid-19 restrictions are difficult'' the video states.
''It's difficult not to travel to the places you've been waiting all year to go to. It's difficult to keep a distance from friends, family and neighbours.
''It's difficult to have no days out, supporting our county colours.
''But nothing we're experiencing now is as difficult as knowing someone you love is in the ICU, because they caught Covid-19''.
