It's expected Laois and Offaly will be allowed exit lockdown restrictions.
It's expected Cabinet will allow Laois and Offaly to exit their localised lockdown when it meets later.
Ministers will meet later this afternoon to discuss the localised lockdown on Laois, Offaly and Kildare which was put in place almost a fortnight ago. The measures are due to expire on Sunday.
Cafes and restaurants in the three counties could only offer take away food, deliveries and outdoor dining for the past two weeks.
It's understood Laois and Offaly will be given the green light to exit the lockdown by Cabinet.
However, it's likely restrictions for Kildare will be extended due to increasing numbers of new Covid-19 cases. It's after more than 455 cases were reported in the country over the past 14 days.
