Up to 450 Leaving Cert students are to be offered a higher preference CAO choice. It's after a number of errors were discovered with the calculated grades process.
The Department of Education gave the file containing the corrected results to the CAO on Saturday. It reviewed the data and yesterday distributed it to the relevant third level institutions.
Somewhere between 400 and 450 leaving cert students will be getting a new third level offer this week.
The CAO hopes to be in a position to publish offers on Thursday morning.
Students who receive a new offer will then need to decide whether to change course now, defer the offer or continue studying on their existing course.
