Diarmuid O’Sullivan (23) was due to graduate next week.

A young man who was found dead along with his father and older brother in Co. Cork, was due to graduate from college with honours in Accounting next week, the Irish Times reports.

23-year-old Diarmuid O’Sullivan, 59 year old Tadhg and 26 year old Mark were all found with gunshot wounds on the family farm in Kanturk on Monday (yesterday), in what gardai suspect is a murder-suicide tragedy.

Diarmuid had concluded his studies at Cork Institute of Technology in June and was due to be conferred with a First Class Honours degree in accounting next week, the institute confirmed.

Gardaí are investigating if a dispute over land led to the triple shooting and have confirmed they're not seeking any other person in relation to the tragedy, though they are appealing for witnesses.

Superintendent Adrian Gamble says the alarm was raised by a woman who lived at the house:

''Gardai based in Kanturk Co. Cork were alerted to a critical firearms incident at the town land of assalas Kanturk Co. Cork, that occurred after 6:30pm.

''A short time earlier a female in her 60s alerted neighbours that a firearm has been discharged at her home, gardai were then informed that three males were present in the house and that one may have suffered gunshot wounds''.

Tributes.

Tributes have today begun pouring in for the deceased, CIT Head of Student Affairs Dr Dan Collins said the entire community was in shock as news of the tragic deaths unfolded yesterday.

“There are no words anyone can say to express how people are feeling," he said.

"This tragedy is heart-breaking, and we extend our thoughts and sympathy to his mother, Ann."

"We also keep in our thoughts, and prayers, his brother Mark and his father Tadgh. We are mindful at this time of his friends, classmates, and staff of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, as well as the extended family and neighbours.”
