''It's a fantastic turn out for a fantastic man'', he said.

''A grounded, humble man who loved the smple things in life who loves his familiy. But he was a man who loved coming home to Ashington and he loved nothing better than walking the streets.

''And I bet if you did a straw poll of all these people, they'd have all met him at some point and they'd have had a conversation with him.

Irish radio stations will play 'Put 'Em Under Pressure' at 12.30 this afternoon to pay tribute to 'Big Jack' and fans are being asked to wear green.
