192,000 of you every single day!
With 2020 having gone and served up one of the weirdest years in history, one thing has thankfully remained the same... Irish people still love radio.
The latest Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) survey figures have been released and they show a staggering 3.2 million people are listening every day, making radio the dominant audio player in Ireland.
There's also been an increase of 38,000 people from this time last year listening to radio daily.
iRadio is absolutely delighted with the stats, which show we now have 192,000 people tuning into us every 24 hours.
That makes us the most listened to radio station across the 15 countries that we broadcast too.
We've also added to our weekly listenership which now stands at a massive 362,000.
Basically, it's a really good day for Irish radio and it's a great day for iRadio.
iRadio CEO Mark Cunning said the listeners are owed a big thank you:
''I want to say thank you to thousands of listeners who’ve engaged with us across the last six months.
''We’ve been working on a project aimed at making our iRadio even better.
''We went to our listeners and we simply asked them ‘What can we do to make iRadio even better for you?’
''We listened and we’ve started to implement those changes. Judging by today’s figures we’re already seeing the positive results.
''Our concentration at the moment is on iRadio’s #iLoveLocal initiative.
''We want to help local businesses get through this tough time of Level 5 restriction. I’d urge everyone listening to get involved. Let’s get through this together''.
