"You can't really ask for a freebie in this current climate. Everyone's struggling".
A popular Dublin restaurant has posted on Twitter about being asked whether it offers "influencer rates".
La Peniche on the Grand Canal in the city says it was surprised by the "cheeky" mail, saying it's a small business and that freebies or big discounts in these times are hard to justify. They tweeted about the interaction, and have since received over 500 retweets and 4,600 likes.
We just received a message from an #influencer to book a Table this week we gave them times available and they picked one then they replied with have we influencers rates? Is this a thing?Like we are a #smallbusiness and in these times we all need to #supporteachother

Ben from the eatery said the person has over 100,000 followers, is verified and said they'd have a photographer with them to take pictures of them getting on and off the canal boat.
"You can't really ask for a freebie in this current climate. Like everyone's struggling", explained Ben.
"Asking for a freebie, even a discount is a bit much. It's a bit cheeky, being honest."
"We didn't know what would happen with that tweet ... we just simply asked is influencer discount a thing."
