Gardai are treating it as a tragic accident.
A one-year-old girl remains in a critical condition at temple street hospital this morning after being found in a fountain at a house in Co. Monaghan.
Gardai say they're investigating the incident, which took place at a property in the Castleblaney area at around 1pm yesterday.
They say they are treating it as a tragic accident.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: ""Gardaí are investigating a drowning incident that occurred at a property in the Castleblayney area on 03/08/2020 at approximately 1pm.
"An infant female child, aged 1 years, was discovered in a water feature on the property and was air lifted to Temple Street Children's University Hospital where she remains in a critical condition."
