Footage shows a large crowd dancing to a version of Free From Desire.
Footage showing what appears to be a street party on Dublin's Grafton Street, just hours before Level Five restrictions kicked in, has emerged online.
A pair of short videos show young people dancing and drinking, some of who don't appear to be keeping socially distant.
The moment was captured just before businesses closed their doors for what will likely be six weeks, due to the spread of Covid-19 in Ireland.
Newstalk reporter Barry Whyte tweeted the footage, which was apparently taken at around 9:30pm last night.
In it, a version of Free From Desire can be heard playing in the background.
Got sent on this video; apparently this is Grafton Street at 9:30pm (I wasn’t there)
But I was in the city to after 630pm, and it was as busy as I’ve seen it in a long time.
Most people were afraid of the unknown in March/April, this time, not so much....#level5 #lockdown pic.twitter.com/g8kpRJohFm

"All the businesses having to close tonight and these people just giving two fingers to them and all our frontline workers," wrote one Twitter user.
Another video posted on Tik Tok from Grafton Street tonight.
Are these people going to adhere to the #level5 restrictions for six weeks? pic.twitter.com/361tYoJ054
