Gardaí will be inspecting pubs around the country to ensure they're obeying public health guidelines.
It comes ahead of the first weekend of trading.
Since Monday, pubs that served food have been allowed to reopen but only on certain conditions. Customers must by a meal worth at least nine euro, and can only stay at their table for an hour and three quarters.
Gardaí say they will be inspecting premises to ensure those guidelines are being met and the Licensed Vintners Federation has welcomed the move. They're also asking pubs to ensure they're following reopening guidelines.
It comes off the back of anecdotal reports that some publicans are ignoring the guidelines.
The next test for the pubs is this weekend, which will be the first since they reopened to the public on Monday.
