Great news!
Known as one of the best Christmas markets in Ireland, people flock to Eyre Square from far and wide every festive season for the Galway Christmas Market.
But with Covid-19 having ruined so many events this year, one could be forgiven for thinking the market would also end up on 2020's scrapheap.
However, it appears we WILL be getting one, and it's exactly what we needed to hear.
Speaking to the Connacht Tribune Maria Moynihan Lee - the woman behind the event - said a number of plans have been discussed since early April for a 'Covid-friendly' market.
"What we’re doing is very detailed planning and working with the Council on making the market happen. It will be the same market in the way people know it to be and it will meet all expectations, but there will be a huge level of control."
"What we are focused on is not diminishing the offering but, rather, altering the way you access that offering. It’s about the quality of the experience not being diminished, while also ensuring the health and safety of people."
That sounds good to us!
