Yes to this!

More than three quarters of Irish people would back a move to a four day work week.

A new Forsa survey has found almost 77% of employees want the government to explore the introduction of a shorter working week.

Half of employers said they believe it would be feasible for them to move their workers to a four day work week.

Margaret Cox, Director of the I-C-E Group in Galway says they brought in the measure last year to great success:

''We increased our productivity by 27%, we reduced our travel time by 20%'', she said.

''We got to a rate of zero unplanned attrition, we reduced our costs by 12% and we increased our sales by 30%.

''So a significant business improvement''.

Younger adults and full-time workers are the strongest supporters of a reduction in the working week.

Forsa is now calling on the Oireachtas to commission an expert report to find out if the move is feasible.
