He's publicly called on Eir to lift their game.
The Minister of State for Digital Regulation, Robert Troy, has labelled Eir's treatment of its customers as appalling.
Several TDs raised issues with Eir in the Dail this week, where Communications Minister Eamon Ryan said it needed to "start providing customer service in a way it is not".
Deputy Robert Troy says he's been contacted by an elderly couple in Athlone who haven't been able to use their phone for 6 weeks.
The Fianna Fail TD says they're being left completely isolated at home despite several attempts to contact Eir.
''I rang the gentleman this morning and you could hear the distress, the anxiety and the worry in his voice about his inability to able to maintain contact with his three children and grandchildren who are living aboard'', he said.
''I'm calling out now Eir quite publicly to drastically up their game''.
