Next weekend is looking promising.
We may be in for one last little spell of 'summer' before it calls it quits, if the latest forecast from Met Éireann is anything to go by.
A spell of high pressure building in towards Ireland from Friday onwards and could lead to some decent weekend weather with sunny spells, lasting until at least the middle of next week.
The days leading up to Friday though will be a fair mixture of good and bad...but hey, at least there's no storms.
Here's what's in store:
Monday (today) will be dry in most areas, barring occasional showers in western and southern counties from around midday onwards, with highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees.
Tuesday will be a little damp to begin with, but there will be plenty of dry spells later. However rain will arrive by evening time and become heavy in most areas on Tuesday night.
Wednesday will see the rain continue, and will be wet and breezy but also very mild, with temperatures reaching as high as 22 degrees in places
Thursday too will see a mix of showers – most frequent in the west of the country – and sunny spells, before conditions improve from Friday.
This is the promising bit, coming into the weekend, Met Éireann says the high pressure will build in towards Ireland during Friday, the weekend and into the early days of next week.
“This will bring dry and settled weather with sunny spells,” the forecaster said.
Temperatures will be around, or slightly below, average for early September, with highs of 15 to 18 degrees.
If it's dry and sunny we wont argue with that!
