The ladies are in need of their new forever home.
Two dogs in Co. Galway are in urgent need of a foster family to take them into their new home.
Zara and Twinkle are in the care of Madra Dog Rescue after their owner died in tragic circumstances.
The charity is looking for the dogs to be kept together in a home with a secure garden.
URGENT
We received an upsetting call about a man who died in very tragic circumstances, leaving his two canine companions behind. 1/8 pic.twitter.com/YOk2D5XSTY— MADRA (@MADRADogRescue) November 26, 2020
Co-founder and co-Director of Madra, Marina Fiddler, says the dogs are medium sized and friendly:
''I think Twinkle is a collie-terrier type and she seems a little bit older, it's very very brief assessment that we've done so far'', she said.
''And Zara is a German Shepard, she does seem to have an issue with one of her legs so we'll have to take her to the vet and check that''.
''But they are very lovely dogs, I was able to touch them and handle them both no problem''.
"They had been there for a day or two without any attention. They had been living in a rural environment so it's very important that we minimise the stress to them, so bringing them to our kennel facility would be a step too far for them.
''We're just reaching out in the hope that somebody can just give them a quiet place; where we can keep them safe and assess them better, and let them decompress a little bit and then we can rehome them, either together or separately."
