''An idea is starting to vaguely form in my head."
Given the highly anticipated this season of Derry Girls has been delayed due to the coronavirus, we've had very little coming our way in terms of news on the girls (and James).
But in news starved fans of the show would love to hear, there could in fact be a Derry Girls movie in the works! Unreal.
The show's creator Lisa McGee has said she already has a vague idea of how the film would go down, now that filming for season three is done and dusted.
“For a while, I was kind of like, I dunno will it work. But now an idea is starting to vaguely form in my head," she told The Irish Mirror.
"After series three I’ll think about that a bit more I’d like to do it, and I think the girls would like to do it. The cast even, some of them are men and boys.
"I think that would sort of be the long term plan. We should have been shooting it now but it has been pushed back and we are trying to wait until it is safe.
"There is a lot of stuff to work out. Our show is complicated to film in these circumstances. We want to do it as well as we possibly can, we want it to be brilliant.”
We want it to be brilliant too! And we're sure it will be. Until then you can catch the girls (and James) on Netflix and on All4.
