It happened at around 1pm.
A man and a woman in their early 20s have lost their lives following a road crash near, Slane in Co Meath.
The incident occurred on the N51 Navan to Slane road at around one o'clock this afternoon.
Gardaí say the car which was travelling from Slane to Navan collided with a lorry.
They are appealing for witnesses to contact them and they are particularly interested in drivers with dashcam footage.
