Meath has seen the biggest increase in cases.
The department of health has confirmed that today has seen a further 13 deaths due to Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland.
Currently, 312 patients are in hospital of which 34 are in ICU.
Meanwhile an additional 1269 new cases of the virus have been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases to 52,268.
Of the cases notified today;
- 657 are men / 609 are women
- 63% are under 45 years of age
- The median age is 34 years old
- 221 in Meath, 203 in Dublin, 116 in Cork, 80 in Cavan and 649 and the remaining 649 cases are spread across all remaining counties.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan, says moving the country to Level 5 can reverse the current trends.
"We are confident that if we can follow public health advice in the same way that it was followed in the early part of this year, and drive the reproductive number to 0.5 that we can get there within the time period that we have identified."
