19 counties saw no rise at all.

The latest county-by-county breakdown of Covid-19 cases in Ireland reveals Dublin remains the hardest hit county, followed by Cork and Kildare.

Dublin saw the largest increase over the past 24 hours with 11 new cases of the virus.

Cork, Kildare, Limerick, Westmeath and Wicklow were the only other counties to receive a case, all reporting 1 new infection.

While a whopping 19 counties recorded no change at all.

Speaking at the daily press briefing last night, Dr. Ronan Glynn, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said; “Two weeks ago, we expressed our concerns about worrying trends in the progression of COVID-19 in Ireland. Collectively, people in Ireland responded to this call for action and together have broken chains of transmission. This is a further demonstration of the power of people working together and rising to the continued challenge of this unprecedented pandemic. What we need now is to hold firm and keep up the good work.”

“I believe we can maintain the important progress we have made together, but only if we continue to heed the public health advice -  physical distance of 2m between one another, frequent hand washing, wearing a face covering where appropriate and cough/sneeze hygiene.”

Last night, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre confirmed that a further 9 people with COVID-19 died in Ireland, meaning there has now been a total of 1,763 deaths since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile a a further 7 new cases were confirmed, for a total of 25,826.

The below data represents the county, the number of cases, the percentage of total cases nationwide and the change in cases.
