Hot water bottles required.
People are being asked to look out for their neighbours in the coming months, as part of the government's annual 'Be Winter Ready'.
The campaign asks people to make sure their home, car and workplace are ready for bad weather.
We're also being asked to make sure we check the weather forecast regularly, know our eircodes and ensure we're prepared if there's a power cut - while 202,000 tonnes of salt is on stand-by if needed.
Junior Transport Minister Hildegarde Naughton says people need to be visible on the roads.
''Looking out for one another and looking out for yourself, if you're walking or cycling make sure that you wear hi-vis jackets'', she said.
''Because of Level 5 more people are out walking and cycling during the winter period so it's important that you are seen''.
Cold snap.
Meanwhile, we have some absolutely baltic weather on the way later this week, according to Met Éireann.
A cold polar maritime air-mass lies over Ireland. The chart shows temperatures below -32C at around 5.5km above the surface. As this very cold air overruns the relatively warm seas, deep convection has formed, bringing some heavy showers this morning & hail & lightning in places pic.twitter.com/VXnXzjZ7bU

Although it will be mainly bright with good sunny spells for the remainder of the week, overnight lows as cold as -1 and -2 are predicted in places overnight on Thursday and Friday.
