105 people have been alerted as being in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, through the HSE's tracker app.
It comes as 40 new coronavirus cases were confirmed yesterday - the highest number in weeks. This figure is the highest since mid-June but only accounts for one day so not too much can be read into it yet.
For example, last week there were 6 cases on Monday, 36 on Tuesday and 17 on Wednesday. This week, there have been 11 on Monday, 40 on Tuesday so this evening’s figures should paint a clearer picture.
The median age of the new cases is 33 and it’s emerged just over 100 people have been alerted as being in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 through the HSE's tracker app.
The Acting Chief Medical Officer is asking who’s been in contact with a confirmed case to isolate and come forward for testing without delay.
