Cities may be placed on higher restrictions than the rest of the county they're in under new plans.
NPHET is examining whether you could move Cork, Waterford, Limerick and Galway cities up a level on the COVID restriction list without doing the same for the entire county.
It comes as the spread of the virus continues to rise in urban areas.
Elsewhere, the Health Minister has issued a warning to people in their 20s to remind them they're not immune to the virus. Over half of cases confirmed in Donegal in the last two weeks were in people aged between 15 and 44.
The county will become the second to move to level three restrictions from midnight tonight.
